One of the promising options for their disposal is processing into harmless road soil. But this is a relatively new technology, so research is needed to understand how such material behaves in practice, how suitable it is. Due to the specific climate in Russia, the road surface freezes in winter, which can negatively affect its condition. Scientists from Perm Polytechnic University studied how the properties of man-made soil from neutralized sulfur-alkaline waste change after freezing and thawing to understand whether it can be used in real conditions. It turned out that in terms of indicators, such soil is comparable to natural soil and at the same time solves the problem of disposal of oil waste.
