Compared to those that appeared later, their sizes are small. The effective radius is three kiloparsecs, and the stellar mass is hundreds of billions of solar masses. These data correspond to the models of formation, but new observations may require a revision of the calculations: astronomers have discovered an unexpectedly large object at the dawn of the birth of stars and galaxies.
